Blending the moody sophistication of modern Scandi Barn architecture with the warmth of rustic farmhouse details, this 385 sqm H-shaped residence in Gloucester is a testament to thoughtful design and client collaboration. Every space, inside and out, was created with purpose, resulting in a family home that is as beautiful as it is functional.
From the moment you arrive, the striking façade commands attention. Wide 405mm vertical Stria cladding in Colorbond Monument meets the rich texture of Austral’s San Selmo reclaimed-look brick, their earthy tones complementarily offset by oversized Merbau timber posts and a statement timber entry door. This interplay of sleek and rustic materials delivers an exterior both modern and timeless, a vision the clients were committed to achieving, even if it meant waiting out pandemic delays for the perfect brick.
Inside, a wide foyer welcomes you with a custom hardwood shelf and a round mirror alcove. One wing houses three bedrooms, a family bathroom, and direct access to an oversized garage with wall-to-wall storage. The home unfolds toward light-filled living spaces: a media room, expansive outdoor entertaining zones, and a sparkling central pool that the entire floor plan orbits around.
