About This Project
Nestled in the serene countryside, this modern barn-style home is a harmonious blend of rustic charm and contemporary elegance. The pavilion design home uses a classic barn style roof coupled with weathered look Blackbutt hardwood cladding and James Hardie Stria vertical cladding. Reminiscent of traditional barns, the home has been designed without eaves. To offset this, double glazed windows have been used to the north western elevation, to protect the inside form the hot afternoon sun, whilst maintain the panoramic views. On the ends of the bedroom pavilions, we have built out the gable ends and clad with matching materials to highlight the Spotted gum hardwood cladding.
The design is unique, and thoughtfully planned to allow for multi-generational living. The home comprises a common central open plan living area, featuring a scissor truss raked ceiling to allow for ducted air conditioning to be concealed. Spotted gum hardwood floors flow throughout the living room and hall areas. The oversized dining table to seat the three generations that occupy the home, adjoins the kitchen that is a chef’s dream, equipped with everything needed to cater for this big busy family, with a working island that doubles as seating and a bespoke bookcase, and a beautiful big separate country style butler’s pantry. Large floor to ceiling windows are located on the north western side to admire the panoramic view of the mount ranges in the distance and lead you out to the hardwood timber decking. The area is warmed via a freestanding wood fire.
From the open plan pavilion you can head to one of the two bedroom wings. The first is the grandparents retreat, which is comprised of a master bedroom with ensuite and WIR. A master retreat to admire the view and allow for some quite time. Wrapping up the space is a guest bedroom and large fully appointed laundry room. The second bedroom wing houses the family area of the home. Within this wing, there is the second master suite with WIR and ensuite, 3 queen size bedrooms to allow room for the children to grow, a family bathroom and a rumpus room with study nook.
As you approach the property, the home’s striking silhouette against the backdrop of the open sky is breathtaking. The outdoor aesthetics feature a blend of wood and steel, creating a seamless transition from the untamed beauty of the landscape to the structured elegance of the architecture.
