As a first time builder, it was certainly a big decision going deep into the unknown having heard some absolute horror stories of experiences with other well known companies. Right from the word go at first meeting, there was no pressure and a comfortable personable approach with a 'can do' attitude. Adam, Kylie and the entire team were always accessible with great communication - nothing was a problem. There was flexibility and the offer of professional and practical advice if they saw fit. Access to the build was never a problem which was awesome to see how the blank canvas unfolded. A big indicator on how it was the right decision to build with Sorensen & Caldon was how highly their trade staff spoke of them and the long term relationships which had been built with an emphasis on quality and no short cuts. There were no hidden surprises with costs and the end result was a beautifully constructed home which is the envy of neighbours. In terms of price, on face value they will appear more expensive than most of the other big companies. In saying that, Sorensen prices are based on quality inclusions and selections rather than an absolute base model which is how the 'other guys' manage to look cheaper. So once you decide on nice finishes the price ends up being on par or better. Our friends thought we were brave when we decided to have a new house built. However, our experience with S&C was very positive. They converted our design ideas into a practical solution and proceeded to construct a very high quality home for us. Designing and building a new home with Sorensen and Caldon was an absolute pleasure. From our first meeting with Adam and the team we felt that we could express our ideas and thoughts with the reassurance that they listened and responded in a professional manner. The craftsmanship and quality of inclusions were superb. The admin team were very welcoming and helpful making the process proceed with ease. All trades people were very high quality and took a lot of pride in their work resulting in a spectacular result. We recently moved into a new house custom-built by Sorensen & Caldon on a sloping hillside site, with several design features that made the build challenging. I am delighted to say that Sorensen & Caldon did an exceptional job throughout, and we are extremely happy with the result. The quality of the build and end result was excellent, both the structural elements and the finish details. This attention to detail is especially comforting given the house is bushfire-rated - we felt very confident about ember entry protection when, just after completion, a large bushfire came close to the house (without issue). Crucially the house also finished squarely on budget, with the only variations being those we had requested. Sorensen & Caldon are a very professional, high quality, and high integrity outfit and I would strongly endorse them for any new building work.read more

Words cannot describe how happy we are. The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten - Sir Henry Royce. My partner and I started our Journey with Sorensen & Caldon back in April 2017 when we secured a block of land to which wasn't going to be built on till late 2018. We were greeted by their sales consultant Kyle to whom allowed us to walk through their display homes in Port Macquarie. What grabbed us was the fact that they had a display home showing their standard inclusions and informed us as to how much we would be looking at per SQM. During the build process, we got to meet all our trades, we were involved with every step, were able to photograph and walk around onsite with their representatives, nothing was too hard for this company and their teams. Nothing re-assured us more then comments from friends and family during and after the build regarding the attention to details and quality of workman ship. We did not search for any other quotes on our build. Yes there would have been someone cheaper but there always is. You get what you paid for, we have certainly more then received this statement.
